How a call works

This site does not clean anything. It puts you in touch with an independent biohazard cleanup company that works in the Columbia area. Here is what to expect.

What happens

  1. You call

    Call (803) 637-8296. You may hear a short recorded message or wait briefly before someone answers.

  2. A few questions

    You will be asked what happened and where. You may be asked for your ZIP code, so the company that answers is one that works in your area.

  3. You talk to a company

    You speak with an independent cleanup company. Ask what you need to know. It may arrange a time to look at the job.

  4. You decide

    The company gives you its own price. You choose whether to hire it. Nothing is agreed until you agree it with them.

Have these ready if you can

  • The address, and whether it is a house, an apartment, a business or a vehicle.
  • Whether the police and the coroner have released it.
  • Roughly what happened and which rooms are affected.
  • Who owns the property and who can agree to the work.
  • Your insurer's name, if you plan to ask them about coverage.

If you do not have all of it, call anyway.

Before you hire

  • Ask what license, registration and insurance the company holds, and check them. The company is independent; this site does not vouch for its work.
  • Ask for a written price and a description of the work before it starts.
  • Ask how waste will be packaged and taken away.
  • Ask what records and photos you will get when the work is finished.

How this site is paid

When you are ready, one call is enough

Tell the company what happened, which room or vehicle it is in, and whether the police and coroner have finished. They will explain the work, when they can come and how they arrive at a price.
